My name is Bob Dreher and this page will give you some examples of the services I can perform for you. I have over 30 years experience in welding including over 18 years in the Aerospace business with Danville Metal Stamping .
I have since moved on to fabricate and weld the fastest accelerating vehicles in the world...Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars. I am employed by Murf McKinney at McKinneyCorp in Lafayette, Indiana.
Here is just one of the cars that we build at McKinney's. Fabricated from 4130 chrome-moly steel tubing, this is The Funny Car of 14 time NHRA Champion John Force , which boasts 8000hp, and will accelerate from 0 to 330mph in 4.6 seconds! We also build cars for 2005 Champion Gary Scelzi, Robert Hight, Tony & Cruz Pedregon, Ron Capps, Larry Dixon, Doug "DougZilla" Herbert, and many more of the top stars of NHRA and IHRA Drag Racing.
I am a certified welder having held multiple certifications, including -
Mil. Std. 1595A, Mil. T5021,
Allison EPS 14530, Avco/Lycoming P6205c &
Pratt & Whitney 16-7/33, FAA Cluster (4130 cert)
I weld evenings and weekends at home, and would be glad to give you a free estimate for your job. I can repair most any kind of metal, as well as fabricate small jobs here in my garage. Feel free to give me a call and I will be happy to set up a time to look at your project.
Below are some examples of my welding and fabrication skills. I strive to do the best with every job I weld or fabricate. I'm sure you will be satisfied with the results.
And don't forget, my work is guaranteed!

Here I am at work welding on a Funny Car chassis. Note the old school helmet...same one I have used for the last 20 years or so. I catch alot of flak from the younger guys at work because of it. They just don't understand ;-)

This is a small part for an aircraft engine. The piece is made of .007 thick stainless, and the weld is approximately .025 in width, all done by hand using .020 filler rod. A fine point pen is next to it for comparison.

There are many more things that I do, these just happen to be what I have pictures of at this point in time. I repair boats, lawn mowers, tools, you name it. So give me a call and we'll solve your problem. My prices are fair, so don't hesitate ;-)
I give a 10% discount to all racers, regardless of what they race, from karts to late models. Safety is of the utmost importance! Be sure your car is safe.
